Jake Vines, LH Class of 2009, was one of the better athletes to come through Lake Highlands in recent years, but injuries caused him to miss a good portion of his high school career, in both football and basketball.
Finally healthy again, Vines will get a chance to show what he can do at the college level after making the football roster at Baylor as a walk-on. Vines is working out in the Bears’ off-season program as a quarterback and receiver.
Baylor spring practice starts March 20. No doubt, a lot of Lake Highlands people will be pulling for him.
