It was chilly outside but the action was hot in the LHHS small gym as the Wildcat wrestling team bested Grapevine, 46-29.
Individual pins were recorded by seniors Isaac Grieder, Brent Bono and Travon Starks and sophomores Duncan Mcauley (pictured) and Henry Offord.
The dual started with the 112-pound match, instead of the 103s, so that Mcauley could finish in time to participate in the LH choir’s holiday concert down the hall in the auditorium. How’s that for a well-rounded kid? A winning wrestler and a talented singer?
The LH junior varsity had a near-sweep, winning 14 of the 15 matches with Grapevine, for a 61-3 win. Among the freshman victors were Deandre Brumfield, Deandre Neroes, Nate Villasana, Dylan Domizio and Rodger Williams.
Next up is the LHHS Quad Meet featuring all four RISD high schools. Matches start at 6 p.m. in the small gym.
