District 9-5A play is already here for the Lake Highlands girls basketball team. The Lady Wildcats play at Carrollton Creekview – it would have to be a road game – with the junior varsities tipping off at 6 p.m. and varsities starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Wildcats lost all three games in the Collin County Roundball Classic in McKinney last weekend, but finished on an encouraging note. LH opened with a 60-23 loss to Plano, then fell to Aubrey, 34-22.

In the final game, LH lost to McKinney Boyd, 58-44. The Lady Cats doubled what they scored in each of their previous two games, led by Tierra Scott with 16. Divinity Dixon scored six points and five others got involved in the offense with four points each.

"We played well the last two games, but we are just limited with everyone out," coach Holly Mulligan said. "We have three back for our first district game, and we have the other one back Thursday. We should improve and compete in district with all our older kids and returners back."
