Both the LH boys’ and girl’s basketball squads are diving into tournament action today.
The LH girls play The Colony at 12:30 p.m. today in the Allen Lady Eagle Hoopfest. (Click on the link for a bracket).
The LH girls got off to a rough start last week losing 42-41 to Princeton and 70-55 to Plano. Injuries and other issues have left the Lady Wildcats with a depleted roster for the time being. D.J. Sandidge sprained a knee playing her other sport, softball, and standout post Hannah Wedding is out at least another month after shoulder surgery.
"We have a lot of young kids on varsity this year and we are trying to get them ready for district and teach them their roles," coach Holly Mulligan said. "It is a steep learning curve that we are hitting full-speed, but we are hoping for great things by district."
The LH boys open the Scot Classic against Midlothian at 4:30 p.m. today in the main gym at Highland Park. LH got off to a rousing start Tuesday with a comeback win over Plano West.
