Until my daughter was born this July, my niece was the cutest baby in the world, and last year when she was 8 months old, we all went to the Arboretum and took some of the cutest photos ever in the pumpkin patch ( as well as throughout the gardens, which are still gorgeous even in the fall).

Now that we have two girls, my sis and I have decided to make it an annual tradition. It’s been a rainy fall, but this Saturday and Sunday are looking to be picture perfect — sunshine, highs in the high 60s/low 70s with no chance of rain — and it’s a good thing, too, because this is the last weekend for Autumn at the Arboretum: The Great Pumpkin Festival.

Among all of the fun activities this weekend is a chance to trick or treat at the storybook playhouses from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Sounds magical.
