This is the perfect time of year for Cool Thursdays concerts at the Arboretum because it’s actually cool outdoors.

The sun sets early over the lake and the concert stage, and you can cozy up on a blanket with wine/snacks and listen to some really fun acts for a relatively small price ($14 per ticket). This Thursday, Oct. 29, for instance, the M80s take the concert stage at 7:30 p.m. I’ve never seen these guys, but anyone who boasts a set list consisting of Devo, Tears for Fears and Madonna covers can’t be bad. right?

Last Thursday I saw Petty Theft, a Tom Petty tribute band (led by KTCK radio Hardliner Mike Rhyner). In the video below, he plays this Petty song from 1993 that I’ve loved ever since I saw the movie "Almost Famous" — actually the song, "Something in the Air", was done by Thunderclap Newman in 1969, then covered later by Petty. Video after the jump.
