Today’s varsity volleyball match with Creekview has been moved up to 5 p.m. to give everyone time to enjoy Homecoming festivities.

If LH wins, the celebration can start early. A win clinches first place in District 9-5A for Lake Highlands, which is 12-0 in district play with two matches left. Creekview is on the Wildcats’ heels with an 11-1 record.

LH defeated Creekview, 25-11, 25-9, 25-19 back on Sept. 23 in the first half of district play.

"We are so excited to play Creekview again potentially for the district championship," LH senior Rachel Peters said. "It’s also Homecoming weekend and everything is crazy hectic, so our focus will be the main obstacle to overcome."

It’s also the last home game for LH, which finishes the regular season Tuesday on the road against Molina. Finishing first is important for playoff seeding, senior Christina Flanagan said.

"Coach [Melissa] Christman has made it very imperative that we stay focused for our last district games," Flanagan said. "I believe that if we all focus and stay intense then we will win without a doubt. We have really worked hard and it all comes down to this game."
