Lake Highlands’ Meron Fessahaie overcame extremely muddy conditions Saturday to take second place in Mesquite Poteet’s Run the Farm cross country meet at Samuell Farm.

Fessahaie finished in 16:05, just three seconds behind winner Tyler Chappell of Cleburne.

LH’s Jordan Gerber was 12th in 17:03. The LH boys finished 10th overall.

The LH girls were a solid 7th place overall. Freshman Sara Shaw led the way with 18th place in 14:29. Michal Ann Starr and Jayme MacDonald were 27th and 28th, respectively, both finishing in 15:00.
