In case you haven’t noticed, it’s hot outside. Really hot. And indoor activities with the kids, especially going to the movies, can get pricy really quickly. I know I have a hard time paying $6.00 a child to take sister’s kids to a movie that they will invariably only watch half of because they’re too busy bickering  or lobbying  candy from the snack counter.

For anyone in a similar situation, consider taking the kids to Studio Movie Grill’s summer children’s series. Every Monday through Thursday at 11:00 a.m. the theater will show a second run children’s movie and admission costs only $1.00 per child and $2.00 per adult. The show changes every week. Happy Feet is running through July 2 and Horton Hears a Who is playing July 6 – 9.

The theater is also teaming up with Variety to present a private screening of Ice Age 3 to families raising children with special needs on July 4 at 11:00 a.m. Children get in free and adult tickets are regular price ($5.00).

The closest Studio Movie Grill location is at 11170 N. Central Expressway. The full line up for the summer children’s series is available online. For more questions about either program, call 214.361.2966.
