If you’ve driven by Royal Highlands Plaza at the northeast corner of Skillman and Royal recently, you probably noticed that (as in many shopping centers around the neighborhood) several vacant commercial spaces look almost ready to be filled.

Ethan Slavin, director of leasing at JAH Realty, the commerical real estate company that owns the shopping center, said construction will be complete in about 30 days. He said a few businesses have shown interest in the space but they have not found a perfect fit yet. "We’re kind of picky," he said. "We’re waiting for the right type of tenants." According to Slavin, they’re looking for any high quality retail or service businesses as well as restaurants to complete the shopping center. I am looking into happenings on the other side of the Tom Thumb and will keep you posted.
