The Wildcat Club is hosting an online auction to raise funds for student athletes and athletic programs at Lake Highlands High, the LH Freshman Center, LHJH, and Forest Meadow. Along with traditional auction fare, like dinners out and family photography, from now until June 9 they’ll be offering items which aren’t available anywhere else. You or your child can throw out the first pitch in an LHHS baseball game. You can receive golf instruction from the Lady Wildcat golf team captain. Your child and a friend can join the football team for pre-game warm-ups, running through the cat tunnel, and sideline fun – all while sporting a team jersey. Your daughter can mingle with the Wildcat volleyball team, sitting courtside during a game and shagging balls for the squad (actually, have you seen the beauties on the volleyball team? My sons might be interested in that one.) You can purchase a Wildcat golf hat signed by LHHS graduate Justin Leonard. You can even own an authentic football jersey and helmet for your kiddo who dreams of Boneyard glory.

The prize you’ll have to fight me for is a ticket to Beth Hanks’ Happy Hour and cheering lesson. Actually, fifteen of us will win the chance to attend a gathering in her lovely home where she’ll teach us how to “make some noise for our boys.” You can’t claim true Cat status if you don’t have your decorated cowbell ready to celebrate each Wildcat touchdown, so this cheer tutorial is a must for true fans. Just don’t bid against me. Even though I’m a soccer mom, I don’t let anything come between me and a good game of Wildcat football.
