Back when I was an RISD student, I actually had to sit through those half-day summer school sessions, torture for any 16-year-old in the middle of July. But now that RISD has cashed in on the marvels of modern technology, kids can earn those same credits poolside if they wish. This month the district is launching a virtual summer school that lets students earn up to two semester credits online by working at their own pace.

But if your kid wants complete summer school parked on the couch, it’s going to cost you: $339 per semester, to be exact. Registration for the new virtual program begins today and ends Tuesday, June 2. If you have more questions—or to preview one of these online courses—just click here.
