A Lake Highlands area apartment dweller lied to police reporting that there was a dead body in her apartment, in hopes that the cops would respond faster after an intruder/ TV thief kicked in her door. She was cited for abusing 911.  What she did was not OK, though it wasn’t as if she called over a fast food order or something. It does make you wonder, though. This 23-year-old woman’s apartment is near the heart of one of Dallas’ violent crime hot spots. Even with the dead body claim, police didn’t arrive until around two hours after her call. I know I’ll never get an answer to this — but I wonder what the response time would have been had the initial call come from a home inside one of the nearby subdivisions. If it was my home and no one responded after an hour or so, I’d be pretty frustrated … though I don’t think I’d have the guts to prank the police.
