Last Thursday after school, Lake Highlands High School hosted cheerleader tryouts. Later that night, freshman Dymond Crook saw her home go up in flames. As her friends celebrated their new status as Wildcat JV cheerleaders on Friday, Dymond worried about her mother and her siblings. Virtually all of their possessions are either damaged are gone.

The cheerleading moms are working to provide clothing and household items for the family. Chris Moomaw is spreading the word, but she’s worried. She knows people will want to help, but she fears that Spring Break will pull folks out of the LH loop.

The family needs clothing for Dymond (adult medium), her sister (adult XL), her brother 21 months old, and another sister 3 years old. Once they find a new apartment, they’ll need furniture, kitchen gear, blankets, food – basically everything.

Cheer mom Diane Dawson is coordinating the collection effort. Her cell phone is 214-797-7256 if you have something you’d like to contribute.
