OK, I’m going to talk cycling: It’s been brought to my attention that I write a bunch about running while neglecting the whole bike scene. I don’t own a bike — though I’d love to — so I’m sort of unintentionally out of that loop (that’s my excuse, you see).
But, here, I just read about this really cool event that I would definitely sign up for IF I had a bike. It’s Tour Dallas, which organizers stress is a bike TOUR as opposed to a RACE, that offers an opportunity to explore the city with 8-, 20- and 30-mile routes through Downtown, Lakewood, around White Rock and more.
For the Love of the Lake is looking for volunteers to help out with the lake portion of the 30-mile race, I mean, tour. It all happens Saturday, April 4 at 8 a.m. in front of City Hall. Visit FTLOTL to volunteer, or TourDallas.org to register to ride.
