This Saturday March 14th, the Texas Discovery Garden folks are coming to the Lake Highlands Community Garden for a ‘field trip’ and meet and greet as part of their Modern Victory Garden class.  The March class will start at the TDG Saturday morning at 9 am and go until noon.  It will focus on preparation for planting, when and what to plant, planting techniques, feeding and fertilizing, companion planting, and integrated pest control.

From there, registrants will head over to the LHCG and stay until 2 pm. Bringing a sack lunch is recommended.  There should be a few things for sale at the LHCG but probably nothing immediately edible.  More like plants, Vermicompost and Worm Wine.  Got your attention with that, eh?  According to Blake Morgan at the TDG, "This is a great opportunity to see fellow community gardeners and swap gardening tips and stories. It’s a great chance to see a thriving community garden in action. Wear appropriate clothing for an outdoors class."
