The Lake Highlands Highlandettes held tryouts yesterday for their officer team, and for the first time in several years, all are seniors. They are: Captain Karin Claussen, First Lieutenant Abbey Smith, and Lieutenants Bethany Ford, Jennifer Klopfenstein, Shannon Simmons, and Megan Williams. Claussen and Smith served as junior lieutenants this year.
Eleven team members tried out for officer positions, a historically large number. In fact, the entire line has increased its numbers since Shannon Harty-Carlton took on the role of director three years ago. The new officers won’t begin their leadership tasks in earnest until after the Dette Spring Show April 17 and 18, when current captain Lyndsay West turns over her white sequined hat. Congratulations girls. See you at the show.
