Klein Oak High School put an end to the Lake Highlands football season in Round Rock over the this weekend with a 34-10 win over the Cats.

We looked strong in the first half, heading into halftime tied at 7-7, but Klein dominated thereafter, despite a big crowd of well-wishers cheering from the sidelines. Many families cut their Thanksgiving celebration short for the Round Rock road trip, and it was great to see lots of LH kids home from college. I was especially pleased to see 2008 grad C.H. Farmer, home from Xavier in Ohio and 2002 grad Eric Fosheim, here from St. Olaf College in Minnesota.

The band, drill team, and cheerleaders looked great. I just love that hodge-podge halftime show where everyone gets out there and has fun. Our wacky mascot, Stephanie Tomba, kept the crowd in the game until the bitter end. It was a wonderful season of excellent efforts by the entire team and coaching staff. We spectators enjoyed every minute of it.
