It’s not necessarily a big deal that someone at city hall decided that the end-of-the-council-meeting public comments don’t need to be broadcast on radio, cable TV or the internet anymore — as Dave Levinthal at the DMN points out, the newly excluded crew is "the same cast of several malcontents regularly — and angrily — address(ing) the council during the public-comment sessions at the end of public meetings." The big deal is that city manager Mary Suhm, mayor Tom Leppert and deputy mayor pro tem Dwaine Carraway won’t say which of them decided to pull the plug on broadcasting the public comments. A decision has been made, clearly by someone among the three of them: Why not have the guts to admit being the decision-maker?
