I know it’s a blatant headline but I’m looking for attention.

Several of us plot holders have indeed shed blood tending our beds. While we’ve been very blessed to have the City of Dallas – and many others – helping us out with irrigation (actually, thanks to us taxpayers too), there are problems with the system. While waiting for things to get corrected, we’re struggling with hundreds of feet of hose configurations, repaired and revamped in a myriad of creative ways – some sharp. Ouch. Just today I dropped off a First Aid Kit for my fellow gardeners. Basic, but since I used an old Barbie dress I found in my car (Thank you El) to bind the cut I got on my palm yesterday, hey, an alcohol swab and sterile dressing is like, modern medicine. And oh, for a pot to…well, you know.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m unbelievably impressed and thankful with what we’ve gotten. Thank you, thank you, thank you, the LHCG is such a blessing for so many – on so many levels! But we LHCGer’s will need to come up with Plan B if the ‘fixes’ don’t happen soon. And considering that we’ve got a long waiting list of folks and are getting more and more exposure, we need to get our ‘house’ in order. Thus far, we’ve done our benefactors proud and we will continue to work hard.

Here’s a ‘taste’ of where we’re at – hoses notwithstanding. Remember April – ASPHALT. Here’s July – JUICY!
