For kids, summer can mean a lot of down time (and for parents, a constant effort to keep them active). Try motivating them with Barnes and Noble’s new summer reading special where kids (grades 1-6) can earn a free book easily by reading books and recording their favorite parts in a reading journal.

The reading journals are available as tear-off sheets at the Barnes and Noble at Northwest Highway and Central Expressway, or any Barnes and Noble bookseller. After reading any eight books, your avid bookworms can choose a free book from a list of popular titles and continue feeding their imaginations. (Make sure to submit the reading journals between May 29 and Sept. 2 to get your free book; limit of one per child.)
