More bad news on the economy front: Not only is electricity going to cost more this summer, there might not be enough of it to go around, either. High demand coinciding with high temperatures prompted the Public Utility Commission to issue a "request" to Texans to voluntarily conserve energy; the PUC says supplies are expected to be adequate, but a little conservation certainly won’t hurt.
Among the ideas the PUC is passing along: Turn off unnecessary lights, set our home AC units to 78 degrees or higher when home or 85 degrees or higher when away, and close blinds on windows receiving direct sun. Can’t say I haven’t already heard these ideas, but …
