Note to self: Next time take Aleve BEFORE going over to rake.
I spent just under an hour at the CG, raking grass and rocks – lots of rocks. Within 10 minutes I was out of my jacket and sweating pretty good. I found a lot of pretty large rocks and did have fun trying to skim them across the asphalt. (Really, I did that just so I could give my back a break from bending and tugging). The only company I had was the lonely dog behind the big fence barking incessently and the two guys in the Code Compliance truck who parked and watched me for five minutes. I do believe they were laughing.
I managed to make three pretty good sized mounds and I must say, when I stood back to admire my handiwork, the area I raked was somewhat noticably smoother looking. When I got in my car to leave, I swear I could hear my muscles screaming at me, just that quickly. Oh man, tomorrow’s gonna be tough.
Note to Mr. Nickerson: I did not bag the mounds because a) they looked kinda nice in a rustic sort of way, b) I needed a shovel and forgot to bring one, c) even if I had bagged the mounds I wouldn’t have been able to lift them anywhere by myself, and d) there are only two bags left.
Can’t wait to go tomorrow!
