My wife and I recently discovered Tukta Thai when on a drive through the Plano Road-Walnut Hill area of Lake Highlands. All I have to say is that I wish we had noticed this place 5 years ago, as it’s authentic greatness! It (obviously) has long been discovered by a certain percentage of LH locals, because the last time I stopped in for a phone-in order, on a Friday at 7:00 PM, the place was packed and there were 6 people waiting. Alas, that’s also the time that I discovered that they appear to lack the staff in the kitchen to handle a jammed place — I had to wait 35 minutes after I arrived for the food.

Some of our favorites are the satays (chicken or beef), the green curries (warning: hot!), the Pad Thai and the steamed dumplings. We have been told the the Waterfall (a chopped, grilled beef with cilantro and lime) is very good so that will be next on the list to try.

Their menu is so huge we’ll be experimenting for a long time to come. We’ll just remember in future to avoid peak times! And the best part? It’s BYOB!
