I knew that former Mavericks PR head Kevin Sullivan had found his way to Washington, D.C., after going from the Dallas Mavs to North Texas’ failed bid for the Olympics to actually handling communications efforts for three Olympic games at NBC to the Dept. of Education in Washington. But until neighbor Roy Burchfield mentioned Sully over the weekend, I had forgotten that the fellow YMCA Indian/Adventure Guides dad was now in the White House serving as the president’s communications director. But it’s true: Sullivan copied me on an email to Burchfield, going out of his way to remember us little people and saying hi to friends here in Dallas. Check out these links concerning Sully here and here and here if you want to get an idea about what he’s doing now. It’s a good story about a good guy who has certainly risen to the top. And if you really want to get an idea about what the guy has been doing, check out these pictures of him on Google Images; when you’re pictured carrying a briefcase next to the president while walking to the presidential helicopter (forget about politics now; just think pomp and circumstance), I think you can say you’ve made it to the top of the PR world.
