Some months, I have so much information that I have to stockpile stories and slip in bits and pieces as space allows. But things really slow down in the summer. With the kids back in school and vacations complete, now is the time to send your news about Lake Highlands High School graduates.

This column is a fun link to the past for other graduates and their parents, most of whom still live in Lake Highlands. We want to hear about marriages, births, business successes, family activities and personal accomplishments.

I’m occasionally tempted to do a column that mentions some of the offbeat stories that readers send, such as a high school chum who hung his mother’s brassiere on the back hook of a bathroom door and practiced unhooking it in the dark, just in case such skills ever became necessary.

There are better tales to tell. I enjoy the history of this community, which always seems to have a tie to the high school – such as the time an airplane made an emergency landing on school grounds or the story about the kid who rode a horse to school.

So send in your contributions. I can usually print within a couple of months. And I assure you, even the smallest tidbit is appreciated.
