“Ever since I entered into my education administration career, it has been my professional goal to return to Lake Highlands,” Iden says.

“A large part of who I am is Lake Highlands.”

Iden has spent the past two years working for the Fredericksburg school district, which is made up of 2,900 students.

Dave Casey, principal of Dowell Middle School in McKinney, has been selected as the principal for Lake Highlands Freshman Center.

Four years ago, Casey served as assistant principal at LHHS for one year. He also was the assistant principal at Apollo Junior High before working as the band director at Richardson High School and Liberty Junior High.

RISD Area Superintendent Kirk London says Casey’s outgoing, high-energy demeanor and strong instructional background made him the perfect candidate for the new position.

“It’s just a wonderful opportunity to serve our kids with a state-of-the-art facility,” Casey says.

“The school will give students an opportunity to form an identity as a class and allow us to focus on some of the specific needs of ninth-graders.”
