Hopefully, many of you were able to attend some of the Homecoming festivities last month. The emcee at Varsity Review took a poll asking for a show of hands of former students, and there were a good number in attendance.

The guy next to her was a real gentleman. After that one fruit exchange the two of them performed, I hope he at least had the decency to ask her for her phone number!

Nick Stegman, a 1996 graduate (and number one Wildcat Band alumnus), was at the head of the orange relay and did a spectacular job.

Speaking of dignity – if you missed the Homecoming pep rally, you missed the Lake Highlands High School teachers sacrificing a little for the sake of school spirit. James Dean and Marlon Brando would have felt at home with this motley motorcycle crew.

The Homecoming theme this year was “Motorcycle Madness,” and some dads out there lived first-hand what only has happened in my worst nightmares.

My dream usually goes something like this: Motorcycle gang thug strolls up the walk toward my house. I cautiously greet him at the door, and to my horror, he informs me that he’s here to pick up daddy’s little princess for a date.

This is where I wake up in a cold sweat.
