The Dallas Farmers Market is getting a new look as fresh as our fruits and vegetables. We are nearing our Jan. 31 completion date of a three-year, $10 million-plus renovation.
When done, the Farmers Market will boast a new Market Resource Center. Additional parking areas will make shopping more convenient for the 5 million customers who visit the Market each year.
Shed 2, located in the front of the Market, will greet visitors with its delicious gourmet products. Lush landscaping, street improvements, underground utility systems and an outdoor Food Pavilion with trees and seating areas will make each visitor’s shopping experience even more pleasurable.
The new facilities and the Cesar Chavez Plaza will be publicly dedicated March 18, and all of our loyal and potential customers are welcome to come and enjoy the festivities.
The Market Resource Center will house new staff offices, conference rooms, public facilities, the Farmers Market gift shop and a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen. The kitchen will be home to our very popular Chefs’ Cooking Class Series.
