Throughout the years, the Lake Highlands community has consistently supported the schools and their numerous organizations. Business and individual families have always been the backbone of the area. This is evident through the response to the LHHS sports program.

This year, as in the past, has proven to be another landmark year in ad sales for the program and membership support in the Wildcat Club, which helps raise funds for the athletic teams.

The bulk of the money raised comes from the sports program ad campaign. In addition to the football program, this year there will be at least three other programs that will include each sport at the high school.

Each year, the program continues to grow. More than 60 percent of the ads are from returning supporters. Due to the added support of each team’s parents, this year’s program will pass all others in size and revenue.

Before May, all premium ads were sold. These ads are the largest single contributors to the program, and many have been returning for several years: Bert’s Roofing, RE/Max, Picture Perfect (MotoPhoto), Herb’s Paint and Body, Barry Johnson, GLU, Athletic Supply, Scotty’s Golf, Paula Stringer Realtors, Metro Factors Inc., and St. Bernard Sports.

This was the first year that parent advisors from each team were asked to sell ads, and they did an outstanding job.

We would like to thank these parents for another successful year: Bill and Barbara Loaring-Clark, cross-country/track; Steve and Sheila Gonner, gymnastics; Bill and Jane Garl, tennis; Dan and Linda White, boys soccer; Bruce and Lou Deelaney, softball; Larry and Micke Houghston, girl’s basketball; Ken and Susan Shulman, volleyball; Ron and Linda Coker, wrestling; Scott and Mimi Miles, girls soccer; Ken and Linda Henry, baseball; Jon and Susan Dooley, boy’s basketball; Richard and Kay Williams, swimming; Robert and Betsy Gantt, football; John and Myra Boynton, golf; and Debbi Duckworth, sales for LHHS sponsored activities.

Booster sales, membership dues and this program provide the funds necessary to continue the winning tradition at LHHS. Because of the tremendous support of the Lake Highlands community, the Wildcat Club will be able to fill almost every request made by the coaches.

Thank you, Lake Highlands for continuing to support our school and its students.
