The first Greater East Dallas Small Business Award will be given by the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce in January.

The awards will recognize people and businesses involved in the community. Categories of the awards are growth, community contribution and new business. First, second and third places will be presented in each category.

The award of growth is for an East Dallas company with the greatest percentage increase in revenues and positive net earnings for the prior three years. The company must have a minimum of $250,000 in gross revenue and no more than $10,000,000 as a maximum gross revenue.

The award for community contribution will be presented to a company that provides meaningful and substantial community contributions. Overall commitment, generosity, care and the nurturing of our neighborhoods will be considered.

The new business award will be presented to a company that has been in business three years or less and has provided both a meaningful contribution to East Dallas and shown viability and growth.

Nominations must be submitted by members of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce to the chamber office by Nov. 30.
