Lake Highlands High 2013 grad and current Texas A&M student Andrew Little has advanced to the finals of the Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in Changsha city. Known as “Chinese Bridge,” the contest is sponsored by the Chinese National Hanban (Confucius Institute) and begins with competitions in students’ home countries. After facing off with college students from around the world, Little has made it to the top 30 of 150 competitors.

Little will represent the Southern USA for the month-long final rounds, which include speech contests and talent shows. While in China, students are participating in a variety of cultural events. Winners will receive scholarships for studying in China.
