McAlister’s Deli coming to Lake Highlands area’s Timbercreek, Sears Appliances to close

McAlister’s website

Love stopping off in Waco en route to Austin for a giant spud and a big, soft cookie at McAlister’s Deli?

Well, yes, there are 20-plus McAlister’s in the DFW, but doesn’t everyone just seem to know the Waco store best? Or is that just me? Either way, there now is no need to travel past our own little neighborhood if you love McAlister’s; a new one will open in Timber Creek Crossing, Skillman at Northwest Highway, in 2017.

No exact opening date yet, but the eatery will replace a Sears Appliances, according to the Saxton Group, which represents the outfit.

McAlister’s, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, offers some 400 delis across the country now. They serve sandwiches, spuds, salads, desserts and, trademark, McAlister’s Famous Sweet Tea.

Updates as a timeline becomes available.
