Tuesday, Nov. 29: Police have not named the person driving the car at the time of the accident. Public Information Officer Diana Flores says a 20-year-old Asian male drove the car into the lake at 10:53 p.m. Friday. The occupant was able to exit the vehicle with no injuries prior to the officers’ arrival, she says. The Dallas Police Dive Team recovered the vehicle mid morning on Saturday.

Members of the White Rock Running Co-op on this morning’s training run happened upon an shocking scene — tragic, in fact, if you care anything about cars: a silver Aston Martin (a luxury sports car that goes for some $75-$200,000) submerged up to its windshield in the murky lake waters near the bridge at Lawther and Branchfield, an empty plastic Coke bottle clinging to the side rear view mirror.

Neighborhood chatter is that a young driver escaped uninjured, but that’s not confirmed, says Susan Joiner, a running club member and Lakewood resident.

A Dallas Police information officer says she has no details available yet, but will let us know once a police report is available.
