The Northeast Division and its new commander Andrew Acord have a lot going on right now — a high-profile murder and multiple sexual assault cases, among the usual thicket of crime in the area.
So Tuesday’s crime summit, which begins at 6:30pm at Dallas First Assembly of God Church (11000 E. Northwest Highway), should be interesting.
Deputy Chief Andrew Acord, new commander of the Northeast Division, will facilitate the meeting.
Acord formerly headed up the narcotics division.
After a speaker, a deputy chief with homeland security, attendees will have an opportunity to separate into groups to discuss crime trends, ask questions and meet police personnel.
