The Last Man Running promotion, sponsored by Cotton Patch Café (with locations in suburbia), is a fundraiser and competition in which Miller will start behind the rest of the field and pass as many runners as he can. For each entrant he passes, he earns $4, up to $25,000 for the marathon’s main beneficiary, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Originally Mark “Hawkeye” Louis of 96.3 was slated for the gig, but he’s been sidelined by an injury. Miller is a pretty fast marathoner, and we (who live in the neighborhood and wonder why the streets are still blocked off at 3 p.m. when the race started at 8 a.m.) know there are a good number of slow marathoners out there, so we expect Miller to bring in some big bucks for the charity.

Here are more details and an opportunity to contribute to the beneficiary.
