The land that may be converted to single-family homes is the triangle lot off of Skillman near Church, the two skinny diagonal lots behind it, and a portion of the other triangle lot, which is land owned by Forest Meadow Baptist Church.

Lake Highlands resident Stephen Davis of MasterPlan Development is the buyer hoping to replat nearly 10 acres of land at Skillman-Church and turn it into single-family homes. The plat has been filed with the city, and we are working to obtain a copy and share it with readers.

The land is currently owned by both Prescott Realty Group, developer of the Lake Highlands Town Center, and Forest Meadow Baptist Church, which is selling a portion of its acreage. Bill Blaydes, who is representing Davis in the purchase, told us recently that if the sale goes through, the land would become 37 single-family detached homes. The contract is subject to being able to get the plat through, Blaydes says, adding that it should go before the City Plan Commission sometime in November. Blaydes also told us this morning that there are “still questions to be settled in time for the hearings.”

We talked to Davis this morning, and he told us he wasn’t quite ready to talk about plans for the property. Davis is a 14-year Lake Highlands resident, and his company has developed a number of residential communities in the Dallas suburbs, ranging in size from 10 acres to 870 acres.

Right now, Prescott owns almost 7 acres of land on that corner that Dallas County Appraisal District values at roughly $1.99 million: 3.024 acres at 7505 Skillman (on which the former North Dallas Community Assembly of God Church sits); 1.821 acres at 9168 Church; and 2.017 acres at 9178 Church. In addition, Forest Meadow Baptist Church, located at 9150 Church, is selling 2.99 acres at the back of  its property that is adjacent to the Prescott land. Realtor Peggy Hill has it listed at $880,000.
