City councilmen Jerry Allen and Sheffie Kadane attended the ceremony, now in its third year, to respectfully retire American flags that are no longer fit for display.

The Lone Star Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans fired a rifle volley.

Attendees brought old worn out flags and after the ceremony placed them in ceremonial fires.

The event saw participation from many different service and veteran organizations including the Patriot Guard Riders of Texas.

The Dallas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and oldwornflag.com sponsored the free, public flag retirement ceremony commemorating Veteran’s Day.

The Emmett J. Conrad High School Choir performed at the ceremony.

The event featured live patriotic music by Annie Benjamin and the Emmett J. Conrad High School Choir. Opening remarks made by Dallas City Councilman Jerry Allen.
