LHJH earns Blue Ribbon status

Lake Highlands Junior High has been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. LHJH becomes the 23rd school in Richarson ISD to earn the designation.

The program honors high performance or strong improvement in public and private elementary, middle and high schools across the country. LHJH’s honor was the result of dramatic improvement in the areas of reading and math over a five year period.

Dover Elementary in Richardson was also recognized. “Both schools should be proud of this national recognition,” said RISD Superintendent Dr. Kay Waggoner. “I invite our entire district to join me in congratulating the students, staff, parents and community partners of both campuses.”
