As long as Lake Highlands is designated dry, we’ll have to cross the border for booze, so this is potentially good news …

Last Friday I got word from Twinrose Investments’ Jim Tudor about progress at two new restaurants in the Hillside Village Shopping Center at Mockingbird and Abrams (which is just outside the LH border, but close enough for most of us to care about). He also let us know that he’s secured another new tenant for part of the former Blockbuster space, PK’s Fine Wine and Spirits, which right now has a Highland Park and Preston Hollow store.  According to Tudor, PK’s owners believe there is a “similar customer base” here in the White Rock area.  He adds that PK’s has a knowledgeable staff, practices good customer service and will hold tastings and classes.
