LHHS seniors receive scholarships from Lake Highlands Women's League

Lake Highlands Women’s League presented college scholarships to 33 recipients Friday, honoring LHHS graduating seniors for their achievements in the classroom and in the community. “They have dazzled us with their impressive accomplishments, beautiful smiles and big dreams for the future,” said LHWL member Linda Smith, who chaired the selection committee and made the presentation. More than 300 scholarships have been awarded by LHWL over 11 years along with almost 1000 service hours given annually. In addition to scholarship money, LHWL will contribute to various school and community projects around LH, disbursing a total of $161,000 raised at their 2009 “Holiday in the Highlands” home tour.
