The TIcket Musers challenge LHHS girls

Following the infamous 100-0 basketball game between Covenant High School and Dallas Academy, the hosts of my favorite morning radio program started wondering aloud on air whether they could collectively beat the Covenant girls basketball team (uh, NO?!). They even offered an official challenge, which Covenant — likely having had enough publicity for one season, thank you — ignored. Then it turned into a challenge against ANY high school girls basketball team …

This morning, Lakewood resident Craig Miller and The Ticket Dunham and Miller morning show gang announced that they would play the Lake Highlands High School girls varsity basketball team — time and date to be determined.

I was giddy at the news and wholeheartedly look forward to following the story as it unfolds.

The conversation actually begain on the afternoon show, The Hard Line. Covenant did decline to play, but the gauntlet was taken up by a private school in Garland. Then some of the guys on The Hard Line began having cold feet about the deal and recruting others from the station. It went from the 5 principle players on The Hard Line to a Ticket “all-stars” team. Not sure what happened to the Garland school.

It will undoubtedly be a hilarious major butt-kicking by the Wildcat girls, regardless of which Ticket staffers actually take the floor.

I did hear the Hard Line guys talk to the Garland school’s coach a week or two ago now that you mention it, LHP1. At the time I was just thinking, man, i wish one of our neighborhood teams would take ‘em on. you’re right ‘ it’s gonna be big fun!

What a great bit. I genuinely look forward to this.

Why did someone in LH get the game cancelled? This would have been great publicity for the high school.
