Turns out Highland Park didn’t mean it when town officials said they were considering tolling Mockingbird Lane. Town administrator George Patterson said his staff may have spoken prematurely on the issue.
And, just in case anyone was wondering, the change of heart had nothing to do with public opinion. Though, said Mayor Bill Seay, "We’ve sort of flagrantly been accused of thinking about ourselves to the detriment of others."
Wherever did he get that idea?
