Perhaps you don’t think of Mother’s Day as the perfect time for Powder Puff Football, but it will be this year. The LHHS senior class is sponsoring this friendly turnabout Sunday from 3-6 pm on the LHHS B Field, with girls taking the field while boys cheer from the sidelines. First, the sophomore girls will take on the seniors, then the freshmen will play the juniors. Finally, of course, will be the championship for LH bragging rights.

The girls are keeping the team lineups super-secret, but word on the street is that Nena Rubin, girlfriend of Harvard-bound LHHS Salutatorian Ricky Zorn, will handle quarterbacking duties for the senior team. We’ll see how well playing soccer and dancing as a Wrangler has prepared Nena for calling plays and making passes.
