The book club began last summer and encourages girls of all ages to read and discuss stories of girls who have overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. The group will discuss “Who Was Sojourner Truth?” in June; “Who Was Helen Keller?” in July; and “Path to the Stars: My Journey from Girl Scout to Rocket Scientist” by Girl Scout CEO Sylvia Saucedo in August.

Any girl interested in joining Girl Scouts is encouraged to attend tonight’s event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Supporters may donate funds to cover books ($25 will buy all 3) by contacting Jennifer Normile at jennifernormile@yahoo.com.
