The Wildcats defeated W.T. White Friday night to gain first place in district standings. The two teams had been tied for first with nine district wins each – now the Cats’ record is 10-2 with two district games to play.
Joel Mendoza scored early in the first half, and casual soccer observers would’ve expected a celebration in the stands at ending the half 1-0. But that was the score at the end of the half when we played them earlier in the season, and we lost that game 3-1 in the end. It was a quiet intermission.
Senior Isaac Garcia scored in the second half bringing a collective sigh from fans, and the stands went wild when Young Swede capped the game with the third goal of the evening. The Cats face tough opponent Creekview, currently fifth in district, Tuesday night at The Boneyard at 7 pm.
