NFL Play 60 Read 20

The Dallas Cowboys will make a stop at Skyview Elementary Monday, encouraging students to “Play 60/Read 20.” Cowboys rookies will lead fifth-graders in a 60-minute mini-camp before moving inside to read from the book Unstoppable, written by former NFL player and education advocate Tim Green.

Before the activities, Essilor Vision Foundation will conduct free eye exams with their mobile unit at the school. Kids who are found to need glasses will receive a free pair, and every fifth-grader will take home a copy of Unstoppable, courtesy of Essilor.

NFL Play 60 encourages at least 60 minutes of active play per day to tackle childhood obesity and foster health and fitness in children. The Cowboys will host other Play 60 events this week in Dallas, Frisco and Arlington.

Next Sunday, the Cowboys will incorporate several youth elements when they take on Detroit at AT&T Stadium. Twelve youth from the Salvation Army Youth Education Town will be part of the national anthem presentation during pregame, and two youth football games will be featured during halftime. The game kicks off at noon.
