“As a trustee, I have advocated for and remain firmly committed to academic excellence and high expectations for all students;  recruiting, training and retaining outstanding teachers; conservative management of the RISD budget; and completion of 2016 bond projects on-time and within budget,” wrote Caston in a statement released Thursday. “I look forward to the implementation of the 2017 RISD strategic plan; working with our superintendent and leadership team on education innovations that will enable our students to be successful in the college or career of their choice. I believe my service on the school board and legislative advocacy experience in Austin will be invaluable assets for my next term.”
