The Richardson ISD has named a new principal for the Lake Highlands Freshman Center – Bill Gallo. Gallo was most recently an assistant principal at Berkner High, and he previously coached at Apollo Junior High. Berkner teachers are very sad to lose him, calling him a "great guy" and a "strong disciplinarian." (I’m told the only stricter disciplinarian than Bill Gallo is his father, General Gallo, a retired Army officer and occasional RISD substitute teacher.) The district has set a lofty goal for LHFC – to be designated a "recognized" school based on TAKS test results. Unable to meet that mark was the previous principal, Ms. Jayne Farmer, who had served as an LHFC administrator since the school opened its doors in 1998. Here’s wishing the best of luck to Mr. Gallo, to Ms. Farmer, (and to former LHFC principal Jeff Oldham, who recently retired as Celina High principal to serve Lifeway Family Church in Celina.)
