groupThe Wildcats brought home the gold over the weekend, dominating the 12 team Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Christmas Wrestling Tournament. Eight Lake Highlands wrestlers earned spots in the finals, and 7 won individual titles at various weight levels. The team took first place with an overall score of 190 points.

Senior D’Andre Brumfield, shown in the individual photo, was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the tournament. He was last year’s runner up at the state level.

Also winning first place medals were seniors Isaiah Johnson, Dylan Domizio and Deandre Neroes and sophomore Seth Villasana. Silver went to sophomore Felix Santino, and TJ Grieder and Nate Villasana earned bronze.

Next up for the Wildcats will be a trip to Oklahoma for the Cushing Invitational January 4th and 5th. State placer Thayer Atkins, out due to illness, is likely to be back and ready for competition. Go Cats!
